PRIMARY AUTHORITY AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Follow directions and meet the expectations of the supervising teacher/specialist/administrator Be familiar with student IEPs and able to implement specialized instruction as well as social-emotional and behavioral strategies under the direct supervision of the special education teacher/specialist Implement de-escalation strategies behavior plans and collect behavior data with the training and support of the special education teacher and staff Be child-centered Collaborate and communicate regularly with teachers/supervisors/specialists as requested by the supervising teacher Maintain student confidentiality at work and after hours at all times Understand the range of disabilities within a classroom and ask for information if particular disabilities are not understood Carry out other related special education duties as may be assigned by their supervisor(s)
