Job Summary:
This role is for a Medical Assistant-Certified (MA-C) working in a dermatology clinic setting. The MA-C will be responsible for assisting with patient care preparing exam rooms performing office duties and ensuring efficient clinic operations. The position requires floating between multiple clinic locations as needed.
Location:Bellevue Washington United States
Responsibilities:
- Obtain patient vital signs.
- Record patient history medications and allergies.
- Prepare patients for examinations.
- Set up and assist with procedures such as biopsies and dressing changes.
- Set up aseptic/sterile procedure trays.
- Collect and label specimens including wound specimens.
- Complete authorization forms.
- Prepare charts.
- Handle pharmacy calls and patient refill requests.
- Schedule patient appointments.
- Perform suture removal.
- Assist with sterile procedure set up and assisting (e.g. ED&C).
- Assist with punch and shave biopsies.
- Perform data entry into electronic medical database systems.
- Document patient care and related duties appropriately.
- Answer unit phone and directs calls accordingly.
- Coordinate equipment/supply needs. Notifies appropriate department of equipment malfunction.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- MA-C (Medical Assistant-Certified) certification.
- At least 6 months of experience in an adult outpatient clinic setting.
- Experience with EPIC charting system.
- Knowledge of aseptic techniques.
- Ability to perform suture removal.
- Ability to set up and assist with sterile procedures.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- Dermatology experience.
Special Considerations:
- Must have reliable transportation and no scheduling restrictions.
- Expected to float between clinic locations in Bellevue First Hill West Seattle and Issaquah as needed.
- Facility may call off traveler UP TO 1 shift per pay period (every 2 weeks).
- Candidates who are not local must confirm their willingness to relocate to the Bellevue area permanently if offered a permanent position.
Scheduling:
- 5x8 hour shifts Monday through Friday.
- Shifts are from 0830 to 1730.
- No weekend work required.
- No on-call responsibilities.
