JFK Law LLP is a busy and dynamic specialty law firm founded in 2009 with offices in Victoria Vancouver Toronto and Montreal. Our firm focuses on delivering high quality legal services in the areas of public constitutional and environmental law primarily for Indigenous nations and organizations. Role Overview
We arecurrently seeking a hardworking and energetic student with a passion and interest in Aboriginal Law. The role will be based out of ourVancouver office for the summer of 2026. This role will assist the firms Associates to represent our First Nations clients in litigation and regulatory matters and performing day-to-day file management. The matters will primarily relate to Aboriginal law including Aboriginal and Treaty Rights consultation and accommodation and issues related to reserve lands and band administration. We also conduct other litigation involving constitutional and administrative law.
This role will provide opportunity for development and mentorship with the potential to continue into an Articling Position.
Our Summer Programs aim to teach students how to become great lawyers. You will be mentored by our team of Associates and exposed to a wide variety of situations and may include client meetings research drafting of legal documents and attending on motions trials and administrative proceedingsconducting research drafting correspondence pleadings and application affidavits and trial preparation.
Qualifications
Completion of 2nd year of law school before the position starts
Excellent analytical interpretive research and drafting skills.
Effective oral and written communication.
Ability to build relationships with ease and work well in a team environment; and
Eligibility to practice law in British Columbia as a member of the Law Society of BC.
