Reporting into the Director of Nursing the Deputy Director of Nursing will have leadership across Knox Private Hospitals inpatient wards and associated clinical support roles. A strong background of nursing practice and management within acute services is highly regarded.

We have a 24/7 Emergency Department covering a full range of medical and surgical specialty areas including highly complex surgeries. About the role
The successful candidate will work in collaboration with the executive team and demonstrate leadership skills to ensure:
Optimal employee patient and VMO experience and satisfaction
Drive excellence in clinical outcomes
Manage Budgets and attainment of budgetary targets and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Demonstrated sound financial management & administrative skills in a hospital setting
Demonstrated understanding of private health sector funding models
Provide a positive and consultative approach towards managing change
Develop and maintain effective working relationships with team members and foster a cohesive constructive & collaborative team working environment
Key requirements
Actively contribute to and promote the development of the Hospitals goals objectives policies and standards
Provides clinical leadership to establish and maintains the highest standards of nursing practice in a patient-focused environment
Develop implement and evaluate quality programs and provides leadership and professional expertise to ensure nursing care is monitored against best practice standards
In consultation with departmental Managers ensures all policies and procedures are implemented reviewed and evaluated throughout the nursing directorate
Promote continuing professional development of nursing staff and others within the directorate
Monitor compliance with clinical practice standards and initiates corrective action as required
Support Managers in ensuring the delivery of cost-effective nursing and clinical care
Continuously monitor and report on productivity and activity within the nursing directorate
Qualifications Skills and Experience
Current Registration with AHPRA
Post Graduate Qualifications in Nursing Business and/or Management (or working towards)
Minimum of 5 years senior nursing experience
Extensive contemporary management leadership experience in a Senior Nursing position in an Acute Hospital Facility
High level conceptual and analytical skills and advanced oral and written communication skills
Demonstrated ability to foster a positive service orientated culture that encourages sound patient care and stewardship focusing on innovation and productivity improvements
Demonstrated understanding and application of best practice Human Resource principles and systems including performance management
Experience in setting monitoring and meeting budgeted financial and annual operational targets and benchmarks
Operational and strategic planning experience
Ability to build strong working relationships with nursing teams medical practitioners and other key stakeholders
Financial and human resource management skills
Strong motivation and ability to manage change
Able to influence nursing and hospital practice to achieve excellent clinical outcomes
Participate in WH&S and quality activities
Experience in the leadership and management of a multidisciplinary team
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
