Job Description

As the Park Operations Lead youll be at the heart of the action ensuring that every guest receives exceptional service and has a blast while visiting. Youll be responsible for overseeing the performance efficiency and satisfaction of our Park Operations and Guest Relations Hosts making sure they have everything they need to succeed each day. Your leadership will be key in upholding our high park standards and keeping everything running smoothly.

Youll work closely with other Gathering Place teams to make sure the park is safe welcoming and filled with good vibes. From checking in with your team to collaborating across departments youll play a crucial role in making our park the best place to visit.

What You will be doing:

  • Lead and support the Park Operations Hosts to deliver top-notch service
  • Ensure the daily operations and standards of the park are met and exceeded
  • Equip your team with the tools and guidance they need to shine
  • Collaborate with various teams to keep the park safe fun and operational
  • Foster a positive enthusiastic atmosphere that keeps internal and external guests smiling all day

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead by Example: Conduct all activities in alignment with the mission and values of GGP Parks ensuring exceptional guest experiences and operational excellence.
  • Team Leadership: Oversee daily tasks assign work and set priorities while ensuring safety standards are met. Mentoring and guiding the team will be key in preparing them for smooth daily operations.
  • Opening & Closing: Follow Park opening and closing procedures to ensure everything runs like clockwork.
  • Effective Communication: Lead efficient and timely start-up meetings to kick off each day.
  • Collaborate Across Teams: Work with the Operations leadership team to reduce downtime and recommend ways to improve the guest experience.
  • Compliance & Safety: Ensure all park elements meet federal state and park operating procedures. Safeguard compliance with all safety protocols and daily documentation.
  • Training & Development: Train coach and mentor both new and existing team members on park procedures.
  • Event Coordination: Collaborate with Education Program and Revenue Management teams to execute seamless logistics for guest events. Ensure smooth handovers of event information.
  • On-Site Event Support: Supervise events on-site as needed ensuring everything runs smoothly.
  • Maintenance Oversight: Promptly report any equipment issues or safety concerns to ensure quick resolutions.
  • In-Park Presence: Actively engage with team members and guests by maintaining a visible presence in the park ensuring quality service and safety standards.
  • Parking Management: Oversee parking areas to ensure smooth traffic flow and a positive first impression for our guests.
  • Park Maintenance: Supervise daily park cleanliness including sweeping hosing down and organizing storage areas. Ensure a pristine park environment at all times.
  • Continuous Improvement: Always be on the lookout for ways to enhance efficiency adjusting operations based on attendance demand and evolving needs.
  • Additional Responsibilities: Perform any other duties as needed to support park operations.


Requirements

  • Physical Stamina: Able to perform physical tasks like standing for long periods lifting bending and climbing ladders all while maintaining a high level of energy.


Physical Requirements:

  • Stand for extended periods lift up to 50 pounds independently and 100 pounds with assistance.
  • Perform physical tasks like kneeling bending squatting and reaching overhead.
  • Ability to work in varying weather conditions including extreme temperatures.
  • Proficiency in swimming kayaking and paddleboats is required.
  • Comfortable working around heights and maneuvering tight spaces in playground elements.
  • Ability to perform manual labor including snow and ice removal when necessary.


Computer Proficiency:

  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software.


Qualifications:

  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required; College degree preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of one year of demonstrated leadership experience.
  • License: Valid drivers license required.
  • Schedule Flexibility: Ability to work flexible hours including holidays weekends and special events.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous supervisory experience is a plus.

Safety-Sensitive:

This is a safety-sensitive position. Applicants regardless of whether they are a medical marijuana licensee must receive a negative result on a 10-panel pre-placement drug screening to include THC prior to beginning work.
