Overview

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain surgical instruments and equipment for procedures.
- Assemble and organize surgical instruments prior to operations.
- Assist in patient positioning and transfer to the operating table.
- Ensure the operating room is clean and sterile before and after procedures.
- Support the surgical team during the procedure by passing instruments as needed.
- Monitor stored surgical supplies and order replacements as necessary.
- Participate in the sterilization of surgical instruments in compliance with protocols.
- Document the surgical process and maintain accurate records.
- Ensure compliance with safety and infection control standards.
- Assist in tracking surgical cases and managing schedules.
- Educate patients and families on pre-operative and post-operative care.
- Attend regular training and emergency drills to stay updated on best practices.
- Collaborate with nursing staff and other healthcare professionals as needed.
- Respond to emergency situations quickly and effectively.
- Participate in quality control and improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma or degree in Surgical Technology or related field.
- Certification as an Operating Room Technician is preferred.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a hospital or surgical setting.
- Knowledge of surgical equipment and sterilization techniques.
- Strong understanding of anatomy and basic surgical procedures.
- Ability to work effectively in high-stress environments.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to work irregular hours including nights and weekends.
