Job Description
LEAD DATA SCIENTIST
ROLE DESCRIPTION
Lead data scientist should understand the business requirements and align the team as per the
expectations. Develop and implement data-driven solutions to complex business problems.
Identifies opportunities for automating repeatable tasks to achieve process efficiency gains.
Lead data scientist responsible for driving the project to closure by delivering high quality results
along with Managing Client communication and deliverables and Planning Team Members Task and
performance management
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Team Management: Lead and mentor a team of 10 junior and senior data scientists
ensuring effective collaboration and professional growth.
Task Planning: Develop and oversee daily tasks ensuring alignment with project goals and
deadlines.
Performance Management: Conduct regular performance reviews and appraisals providing
constructive feedback and development plans.
Client Communication: Manage communication with multiple clients understanding their
needs and ensuring timely delivery of solutions.
Task Prioritization: Prioritize tasks based on client requests and project requirements
ensuring efficient workflow.
Business Reviews: Conduct regular business reviews as per cadence analysing project
progress and identifying areas for improvement.
Project Tracking: Build and maintain project trackers to monitor the health and progress of
projects.
Innovation: Suggest new automation and experimentation opportunities in Machine
Learning (ML) and Generative AI (GenAI) areas.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor /Master's or PhD in Data Science Computer Science Statistics or
related field.
Experience: 10 years of experience in data science with a proven track record of managing
teams and projects.
Skills:
oStrong expertise in ML / DL / NLP foundational concepts and algorithms
oStrong expertise in GenAI / LLM and its application like summarization Generation
fine-tuning etc. using Gemini (Good to have)
oComprehensive knowledge of SQL with experience related to data science
oAdvanced level experience with programming languages such as Python or R and
code should be modular scalable and free of bugs
oStrong experience in productionization and building pipeline (Good to have in Google
environment)
oStrong analytical problem-solving & team handling skills
oProficient in project management and client communication.
oAbility to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
oStrong analytical and problem-solving skills.
