Job Summary:
Support Tech LLC is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Onsite IT Technician to provide hands-on technical support to our clients in the Jacksonville FL area. This role requires a strong technical aptitude excellent problem-solving skills the ability to work independently and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service. The ideal candidate will be comfortable with PC setup and deployment software installation and configuration basic networking concepts and possess familiarity with Datto backup and recovery solutions. This position also requires the physical ability to lift and move computer equipment weighing up to 60 pounds.
Responsibilities:
- Provide professional and timely onsite technical support to clients diagnosing and resolving hardware and software issues for desktops laptops and peripherals.
- Perform the physical setup and deployment of new PCs ensuring proper cabling network connectivity and hardware functionality.
- Install configure and update operating systems (e.g. Windows macOS) and various software applications according to client specifications and best practices.
- Troubleshoot software compatibility issues and ensure all necessary drivers and updates are correctly installed.
- Assist with basic network troubleshooting including connectivity problems Wi-Fi configuration and printer setup.
- Utilize and manage Datto backup and disaster recovery solutions including monitoring backup jobs performing test restores and assisting with recovery processes as needed.
- Perform data backups and restoration tasks as required.
- Provide end-user training and support on basic hardware and software usage.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed including problem descriptions resolutions and time spent using ticketing systems.
- Follow established procedures and documentation standards.
- Communicate effectively with clients providing clear and concise updates on the status of their issues.
- Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor while representing the company at client locations.
- Manage and organize personal inventory of necessary tools and equipment.
- Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines during onsite work.
- Perform other duties as assigned to ensure efficient IT operations.

Requirements
Qualifications:
- Proven experience (typically 2 years) in an onsite IT support role or a related field.
- Strong technical proficiency with desktop and laptop hardware operating systems (Windows macOS) and common software applications.

Hourly based on experience.
Hours:
Your working hours will be based on Eastern Daylight Time (EDT) and will primarily be 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM Monday through Friday. However due to project and customer demands these hours can fluctuate. Your working hours should be flexible to accommodate these variations.

Additionally, the Network Technician will provide on-site network support and solutions to our valued customers within the local Birmingham area. On-site Customer Support: Travel to customer locations within the Birmingham, AL area to provide on-site network installation, configuration, and troubleshooting services. Diagnose and resolve network connectivity issues, including LAN/WAN problems, Wi-Fi connectivity, and VPN access. Assist customers with network setup, migrations, and upgrades. Provide technical guidance and support to customers on network-related inquiries. Document customer interactions, solutions, and configurations. Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, ensuring their satisfaction. General Duties: Collaborate with other IT team members to ensure seamless service delivery. Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours support as needed. Stay up-to-date with the latest networking technologies and industry trends. Adhere to company policies and procedures
Education
Qualifications: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. Proven experience 3+ years as a Network Technician or similar role. Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, VLANs, and routing protocols (e.g., OSPF, BGP). Experience with network equipment from vendors such as Cisco, Ubiquiti, Meraki, Juniper, Sonic Wall, etc. Proficiency in troubleshooting network connectivity issues, both wired and wir
