Job Description

Te Whiwhinga mahi The opportunity

The School of Chemical Sciences seeks to appoint a new continuing academic as a Professional Teaching Fellow who will be initially responsible for overseeing the design and implementation of our undergraduate laboratory programme to provide a coherent high quality and research (and scholarship of teaching and learning)-informed experience for our students that builds chemistry confidence supports the lecture programme and develops critical graduate profile skills including awareness of managing risk in a strong health safety and sustainability environment. This work will be done in close collaboration with the directors of our undergraduate courses and relevant technical staff. The appointee will also contributing to lecturing across a range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses (primarily in general chemistry and analytical chemistry) as required by the Head of School. This is a teaching-focussed role (non-research) and the successful applicant will play a key role in ensuring student support and curriculum delivery in in Chemistry to ensure student success and retention and as well as leadership in supporting high quality teaching throughout the school contributing to and informed by the scholarship of teaching and learning.

This is a fulltime (40 hours per week) permanent position based mainly on our City but may also involve our other campuses.

**Note: the appointees will be asked to contribute to our offshore teaching commitments which can include travel to other countries as part of the role.

Remuneration range is $100696 - $111297 per annum dependent on skills and experience
