Role Summary
We are looking for a highly professional and flexible IT Infrastructure Specialist with 58 years of hands-on experience in both server and storage technologies. This role is critical to our 24/7 Follow-the-Sun (FTS) support model and requires a strong technical foundation in server management (Windows/Linux) SAN storage and incident resolution. The candidate must exhibit professionalism strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across time zones to ensure seamless operations and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Server Management (Windows/Linux)
Incident Resolution: Resolve server-related incidents (Windows/Linux) ensuring timely and accurate fixes according to SLAs.
Monitoring & Maintenance: Perform routine system monitoring maintenance and troubleshooting of server environments.
Vendor Coordination: Work with vendors for hardware or software-related support and ensure swift resolution of issues.
Knowledge Sharing: Act as the primary point of contact for knowledge sharing within the India team regarding server management best practices and troubleshooting.
Documentation: Maintain comprehensive records of server-related issues resolutions and vendor interactions.
Linux and Windows Virtualization
Storage Management (SAN/NAS)
Hardware Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve SAN cabling and hardware issues with minimal downtime.
Vendor Coordination: Manage vendor relationships including part replacements and RMA processes for storage hardware.
Escalation Handling: Identify and escalate complex or critical issues to the next support tier or management as necessary.
Incident Management: Investigate and resolve storage-related incidents ensuring follow-up on escalated issues.
Knowledge Sharing: Lead knowledge transfer sessions and ensure smooth communication with remote teams about SAN switches and storage systems.
Documentation: Keep detailed records of storage incidents resolutions and vendor interactions.
FTS Collaboration
Operate effectively within a 24/7 Follow-the-Sun support model ensuring smooth handovers between shifts across global teams.
Maintain a high level of professionalism and reliability while working in a rotational shift environment covering multiple time zones.
Cooperate closely with server network and database teams to provide integrated solutions and support.
Required Skills
B.E (IT or Computer Science) or Equivalent.
58 years of experience in IT infrastructure with a focus on server management (Windows/Linux) and storage (SAN/NAS) systems
Strong troubleshooting skills in both server management (e.g. Windows Linux) and storage systems (e.g. SAN NAS RAID configurations)
Hands-on experience with storage platforms such as NetApp EMC Cisco and Brocade SAN switches
Proven experience in coordinating with vendors for part replacements RMA processes and hardware logistics
Strong communication skills to facilitate knowledge sharing and coordination across global teams
Ability to manage escalations and work with urgency to minimize business impact
Flexibility to work in a rotational shift model ensuring coverage in all time zones
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with cloud technologies (AWS Azure) and their integration with storage solutions
Exposure to ITSM tools and processes (e.g. ServiceNow ITIL)
Scripting knowledge for automation (e.g. PowerShell Python)
ITIL certification or equivalent
