Job Description

Responsibilities

The Water Supply & Treatment Administrator reports to the Division Manager and serves as the certified operator of record for multiple water treatment plants. The Administrator oversees daily operations inspections and maintenance to ensure compliance with Ohio EPA standards and acts on behalf of the Division Manager when needed.

This role is central to strategic planning budgeting and recommending capital improvements. The Administrator researches and implements new technologies to enhance treatment production and distribution efficiency. They ensure full compliance with all regulatory requirements including the Safe Drinking Water Act NPDES RAPCA ODNR and OSHA. The position also leads safety initiatives and workplace audits.

The Administrator manages infrastructure reliability coordinates major projects procures equipment and ensures operations remain responsive and compliant. This position requires 24/7 availability for emergencies and performs additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Applicants must meet one of the following educational and experience combinations:

  1. Bachelors degree in Engineering Chemistry Biology Environmental Science or a related field AND 5 years of experience in water system operations maintenance or related capacity (water supply treatment or distribution system) including 2 years in a supervisory role; OR
  2. Associates degree inEngineering Chemistry Biology Environmental Science ora related field AND 8 years of the above listed experience including 3 years in a supervisory role; OR
  3. High school diploma or GED AND 10 years of the above listed experience including 4 years in a supervisory role.
Degree must be from a college or university that is accredited by the U.S. Department of Education through the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools Higher Learning Commission or equivalent region.

Certifications

A Class III Water Supply Operator license is required at the time of appointment. Must be eligible to become an Ohio EPA Class IV Water Supply Operator and apply for the Class IV exam within 3 months of appointment. Once accepted into the program the candidate must complete the process within OEPAs prescribed timeline.A Class IV Water Supply Operator license is preferred at the time of appointment and must be maintained once earned.

License Requirements

Must possess a valid drivers license at time of appointment and maintain thereafter as a term and condition of continued employment.
