As a Bookkeeper on the Accounting team at Thomas Cuisine youll play a vital role in supporting accurate financial operations that help fuel our companys growth and our commitment to exceptional client service. Your attention to detail and organization will contribute to streamlined processes that ensure our financial data is clear timely and reliable.

Wage range: $46000 - $54000

What you will do

As a key member of the Accounting team you will report directly to the Corporate Controller and assist with delivering on the transformational path that the organization is on. As results are delivered you will be given the opportunity to grow into larger responsibilities.

You will support the organization by. . .

  • Process paper check payments and Electronic Funds Transfer payments for customers into the bank and the ERP system (NetSuite) daily.
  • Manage Accounts Receivable and ensure timely collection.
  • Assist with daily bank reconciliations and general cash management.
  • Manage the fixed asset and lease accounting process including depreciation entries.
  • Prepare and post general ledger entries monthly with recurring month-end tasks.
  • Balance Sheet reconciliations.
  • Prepare various sales use and excise tax returns and tax payments.
  • Manage tax rate changes. Educate and communicate taxation changes to the organization.
  • Partner with the Accounts Payable Manager on 1099-Misc and 1099-NEC reporting and filing.
  • Manages permit registration/renewals for multi-state SOS annual reporting State City and County business licenses health permits sales tax registrations and other state-specific licenses per jurisdiction.
  • Prepare and review SOPs and process documentation standardization of compliance and reporting.
  • Support year-end or other special audit activities.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Youll be a great fit if you have:

  • Degree in Accounting/Finance.
  • 3-5 years experience in a relevant role in accounting.
  • Multi-State Sales & Use Tax accounting: 3 years (Preferred)
  • In-depth knowledge of GAAP.
  • Ability to travel 10%
  • Previous experience with NetSuite or other accounting ERP systems.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft Power BI and SQL knowledge a plus
  • A history of effectively working independently or as a team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven history of developing deep and trusting relationships with internal and external teams.
  • Proven history of maintaining a high level of confidentiality.
  • Forward thinking and the ability to continuously improve processes.
  • Excellent verbal written and presentation communication skills organizational skills and focus on details.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines efficiently.
  • Ability to quickly learn and accurately use new and/or existing accounting software.

Essential Physical Requirements

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer (up to 8 hours per day).
Regular use of standard office equipment such as computers phones printers and copiers.
Occasional lifting of files or office materials up to 15 pounds.
Work is performed in a professional office environment with controlled temperature and lighting.
May require occasional extended hours during month-end or year-end close or audit periods.
Minimal travel may be required for meetings training or company events.
