Director of Pediatric Nursing Services Clinical Operations Leader
A leading healthcare facility in coastal Virginia is seeking an experienced Pediatric Nursing Director to lead our award-winning pediatric unit. This executive nursing leadership position offers the opportunity to shape patient care excellence while directing clinical operations for a growing department.
Position Overview
As Director of Pediatric Nursing Services you will provide strategic leadership and operational oversight for our pediatric unit while ensuring exceptional patient care standards regulatory compliance and staff development. This role combines clinical expertise with business acumen to drive quality outcomes and departmental growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead strategic planning and daily operations for the pediatric nursing unit
- Drive clinical excellence through evidence-based practice implementation
- Oversee quality metrics patient safety initiatives and regulatory compliance
- Manage department budgeting staffing and resource allocation
- Develop and implement policies and procedures aligned with organizational goals
- Foster interdisciplinary collaboration and team development
- Ensure optimal patient flow and care coordination
- Champion patient experience initiatives and family-centered care
- Guide professional development and mentorship programs
Required Qualifications
- Current RN licensure required
- Bachelors degree in Nursing required (Masters preferred)
- Minimum 5 years of pediatric nursing experience
- Minimum 3 years of director-level leadership experience in pediatrics
- Current BCLS certification
- Strong clinical and operational leadership capabilities
- Excellence in team building and staff development
