1365- Regional Cyber Crime Unit (RCCU) Coordinator (Pursue Protect Prevent & Prepare)
The West Midlands Regional Organised Crime Unit (ROCU WM) is a collaboration between the police forces of Staffordshire West Midlands West Mercia and Warwickshire. The aim of ROCU WM is to reduce the impact and increase the disruption of serious and organised crime within the region and beyond. The Regional Cyber Crime Unit (RCCU) sit within ROCU WM.
We are seeking a professional motivated and innovative person to provide the West Midlands Regional Cyber Crime Unit with a coordinated approach to delivering the National 4P Plan whilst working in partnership with law enforcement education public sectors and private industry to mitigate the risk of Cyber Crime and reduce vulnerability in our communities across the West Midlands region and West Midlands Warwickshire West Mercia and Staffordshire police force areas.
The successful candidate will work with small teams of dedicated staff tasked with driving operational activity through the delivery of pursue prevent protect and prepare objectives in collaboration with our regional Force Cyber Crime Units (FCCU) and national networks coordinated by the City of London Police (CoLP) and National Crime Agency (NCA).
They will have a keen interest and good understanding of cyber related crime experience of working in a cyber security environment and experience building and maintaining working relationships to support national and local initiatives to raise the profile of Cyber Crime threats. They will maintain an oversight of operational activity and be able to identify patterns and themes in current local and national activity across law enforcement and partners; using this to direct their own work. They will be live to national priorities and emerging threats and able to work with limited resources to maximise disruption opportunities.
They will have the ability to work on their own initiative as well as part of a team with strong interpersonal skills confidence innovation and the ability to express ideas and communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Training and CPD will be provided.
Specific Role Responsibilities:
Lead by example and behave in line with the Police Code of Ethics ensuring that the force values and behavioural expectations are clearly understood and considered by managers officers and staff in their decision making and actions; reinforcing and influencing them through all interactions and processes.
Support national activity coordinated by law enforcement agencies and Cyber strands of business with our regional forces cyber Pursue Protect Prepare and Prevent teams.
Work in partnership with Regional Organised Crime Units and Law Enforcement Agencies to develop strategies based upon evidence from ongoing investigations identifying current threats and lessons learnt for sharing across the network.
Attend Cyber Regional Meetings to identify further requests for crime prevention in our communities identify opportunities to improve the delivery of 4P activity and agree coordinated response.
Produce and maintain 4P Plans for sanctioned Regional investigations.
Support Regional Team with coordination of meetings including scheduling organising and recording of minutes and actions. Support report writing including performance analysis and administrative functions as required.
Manage their own day to day responsibilities around victim care as well as coordinate the regional attendance and support of 4P events.
Regular liaison with the CoLP and NCA regarding the national initiatives and coordinate national direction of 4P activity.
To support the 4P performance input against ROCU and national performance metrics and the delivery of 4P activity across the region and nationally.
Identify and build partnerships with public private industry education and third sector partners to promote messaging and identify national & regional initiatives to raise the profile of Cyber Crime threats.
Provide continued engagement and coordination during the recruitment and onboarding of Cyber Interns and Volunteers and support during postings.
Post holder will not hold any supervisory or managerial responsibilities but previous experience would be beneficial. This role requires the post holder to coordinate nationally and regionally authorised strategy and our approach to delivering it as a region. We are looking for an individual that can evidence interacting at an internal supervisory level and with partners to influence decision making as this will a key element to the role.

Ability to work under pressure to specific deadlines to ensure timely meaningful and current information is delivered and disseminated professionally across the law region where necessary exhibiting both adaptability and flexibility

Proven communication and report writing skills and ability to develop clear concise and articulate technology and data strategies for a variety of audiences.
Knowledge of Cyber Crime trends threats methodologies enablers and terminology.
Demonstrate a good level of computer literacy and experience of using Microsoft Office applications.
Ability to operate with the highest standards of integrity discretion confidentiality and aptitude to digest complex operational plans and manage highly sensitive information within the Government Security Classification (GSC) and Security Policy Framework (SPF).
Knowledge of police systems and policing; current legislation policies and procedures (e.g. GDPR Human Rights Act).
Ability to present to a variety of audiences
Ability to assess plan and deliver strategies
Strong presentation skills
Desirable Skills and Experience:
Experience of public engagement communication and messaging across the 4P objectives
Cyber Security Qualification and/or Accreditation
Technical Cyber Threat understanding / knowledge / experience
Complex data management experience
Holder of a current driving license
Is prepared to work flexible hours to suit the requirements of the department and role.
Prepared to travel throughout the UK as required.
A desire to continuously learn new skills and update knowledge

Vetting:
Successful applicants will be required to pass Management Vetting and Security Clearancescrutiny prior to commencing their role this will include a full background & financial disclosure as part of the vetting process.
Medical:
Appointment to this role will be dependent upon successfully medical checks which may include a drugs test and if required a fitness test.
Hours:
The hours are predominantly Monday to Friday 8-4 but there may be a requirement to work beyond these core hours.
