The health services at Clarence Correctional centre has 3 modern health centres that delivers appropriate standards of health care to approximately 1700 inmates from diverse backgrounds and cultures. You will provide leadership and advice as well as monitor and suggest recommendations on internal and external environment influences to ensure health services are able to meet patient needs.

The role of the Nurse Practitioner Mental Health is to provide assessment and intervention strategies to support and manage patients at an advanced and extended nursing level with particular emphasis on mental health. Diagnose and treat acute infections injuries and illnesses where appropriate and consult with patients about effectively managing thei health design treatment plans recommending further care.

To be successful in this role youll have:

  • Registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA
  • Master of Nursing Practice
  • Extensive experience in mental health nursing
  • Endorsed by NMBA and able to prescribe (within your scope of practice)
  • Experience in clinical assessment care planning review and discharge planning of individual patients including ongoing regular reviews
  • Ability to confidently and proficiently carry out a range of procedures treatments and intervention

About Clarence Correctional Centre

Opened in mid-2020 this 1700-bed state-of-the-art facility is the largest correctional Centre in on the beautiful NSW North Coast approx. 6 hours drive from Sydney and 3.5 hours from Brisbane our region offers rainforests epic headlands sand dunes and some of the best Australian beaches with a variety of multi-cultural cafes restaurants and friendly community towns.

Please note: This position carries trust and responsibility. To support this a comprehensive probity assessment including a National Police Check is a key part of the selection process for this role.
