Role Overview (MUST have active SECRET security clearance)
PUNCH is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer with deep experience in containerization CI/CD pipelines and supporting large-scale data analytics workflows. This is a highly technical hands-on role focused on transitioning deploying and integrating analytic capabilities into DoD systems. You will play a key part in maturing infrastructure to support mission-critical data pipelines and machine learning workloads.
Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain containers and Helm charts to package deploy and integrate analytic capabilities into government workflows
- Implement and maintain security hardening for all code artifacts and containers to meet or exceed DoD compliance standards
- Work within an agile team using DoDs Atlassian suite (Jira Confluence) for development tracking and documentation
- Develop and enhance data ingestion transformation and analytics pipelines including:
- Integrating various data types formats and systems (e.g. JSON Parquet SQL-based)
- Adjusting ML analytics and feature engineering to accommodate new datasets
- Scaling analytics to support new workloads and environments
- Orchestrating workflows and job scheduling using tools like Airflow
- Improve and maintain DevOps and MLOps workflows with end-to-end metrics health monitoring and alerting
- Enhance processing architectures for resiliency observability and mission performance
Experience and Qualifications:
- Significant experience with Kubernetes including Helm chart development and maintenance
- Deep knowledge of CI/CD pipelines including compliance with DoD security hardening checks
- Hands-on experience in DevOps environments supporting data ingestion ETL pipelines analytics and visualization
- Expertise with:
- Linux environments (RedHat/Rocky distroless containers)
- Python (pandas PySpark) Bash SQL and Terraform
- Data and file formats such as JSON and Parquet
- Familiarity with distributed systems such as:
- Apache Spark Kafka ELK stack MinIO/Ceph Nifi and Airflow
- Experience with GitLab for source control and pipeline automation
- Working knowledge of DoD cyber operations is highly desired
