Job Description

A leading company in the software development industry based in Portugal is seeking a highly skilled Backend Developer specializing in Java DevOps and Observability.

Tasks

  • Detail: Focused on enhancing product development through improved observability and DevOps processes.
  • Take ownership from day one and analyze existing services.
  • Make configuration changes independently to optimize services.
  • Ensure alignment with the service rulebook to adhere to best practices.
  • Support end-to-end testing efforts.
  • Provide mentoring to enhance the teams observability maturity.

Requirements

  • Java: Essential for backend development ensuring the capability to maintain and enhance services.
  • DevOps Knowledge: Critical for efficiently managing the deployment and integration processes directly impacting service reliability.
  • Datadog Expertise: Necessary for the successful migration to observability tools contributing to better monitoring and alerting.
  • Independence and Initiative: Allows for quick adaptations and necessary configurations streamlining workflows from day one.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative.
  • Location in Portugal and willingness to work from the office.

Nice to Haves:

  • Experience with end-to-end testing frameworks.
  • Familiarity with environment policies and compliance regulations.
  • Prior mentorship or leadership experience within a team setting.
