About the Role:
As a Senior Manager of UX within our Stores Fulfillment team youll lead the design and evolution of critical digital tools that support store team members in delivering fast easy and reliable fulfillment services for our guests. From picking orders for next-day delivery to optimizing drive-up and in-store handoff experiences your teams work will empower team members to move with clarity confidence and speed.
Your leadership will shape the daily experience of thousands of store team members across the countryensuring they have intuitive efficient tools to meet rising fulfillment demands while delivering a seamless guest experience.
This role is as much about what we work on as how we work. Youll play a key role in setting priorities connecting the dots across teams and ensure designers are focused on high-impact problems. Success requires developing a deep understanding of Targets fulfillment strategies and a human-centered approach to solving for complex workflows.
Youll collaborate closely with partners across UX Product Engineering Store Operations and Business teams to define and deliver scalable valuable tools. Day to day youll give your team the clarity support and design direction they need to do their best workwhile fostering a collaborative and outcomes-driven culture where designers are empowered to advocate for team members and think big about the future of fulfillment.
Success for this leader requires the ability to understand Targets priorities and partner with a broad set of stakeholders to establish design & experience direction. Day to day youll ensure your team has what they need to thrive and deliver great work. This includes operating routines insights design direction partner awareness and a collaborative and inclusive culture.
Responsibilities:
Build trust and proactively partner with UX Product Tech & Business stakeholders to set the stage for your team to achieve exceptional outcomes.
Lead balanced UX teams and grow their teams ability to balance multiple projects/demands.
Coach mentor and guide a team of individual contributors of various levels helping them to grow and develop new skills while increasing trust transparency and engagement.
Work closely with cross-functional teams to integrate design processes into the overall product development lifecycle.
Maintain high-quality standards for your team throughout the design process including reviewing the work of the design team conducting design critiques and making sure that the final deliverables meet the established criteria.
Champion user-centered design principles within the organization promoting and advocating its importance.
About you:
7 years of experience in UX/digital product design with a strong understanding of the craft of design
Proven experience in a people management role including hiring leading and coaching high performing cross-geography or remote teams
Foundational understanding of digital retail businesses
Experience working in large matrixed global or multi-national organizations a plus
Demonstrated ability to build relationships and create impact through multiple levels of leadership including other Sr Managers Directors and Sr. Directors and can maintain both drive and patience throughout the journey.
Ability to balance short-term and long-term thinking while raising quality and team performance
Proactively identify and resolve issues that may impair the team from meeting strategic business or financial goals
Strong data-driven visual verbal and written story-telling skills with ability to bring partners along
Experience successfully managing many stakeholders through all phases of the design process
