Following is a summary of the essential functions for this job. Other duties may be performed both major and minor which are not mentioned below. Specific activities may change from time to time.
1. Ensure adequate support mechanisms and processes are in place and delivered timely for bankers in the field with tax-exempt transactions including sales process closing and ongoing issues related to the tax-exempt status. Must be well versed with tax rules relating to non-profits governments IRBs and exempt facility transactions.
2. Provide and manage support for analytical requirements to support sales presentations to potential borrowers as well as analytical requirements from Bond Counsel prior to closing (8038 tax document requirements). Produce amortization schedules and debt service schedules as needed for documents/clients.
3. Manage or monitor the closing process depending on the presence of a Financial Advisor (FA). If no FA this will include creating/distributing Contact Lists and Financing Schedules as well as supporting the entire closing process from mandate to funding. In all cases the job will require review of legal documents related to the financing to ensure the appropriate documentation/structure relating to the Subsidiary.
4. Coordinate with Manager to ensure timely and accurate reporting of necessary corporate governance and financial information. Take ownership of the Sales Tracking Report that provides valuable information to Executive Management.
5. Coordinate with the Derivatives Desk to facilitate appropriate information flow from the deal team and ensure smooth pricing/closing process.
6. Help to build consensus and participate in complex conversations among Truist Relationship Managers Credit Approvers Clients Client Advisors Bank Counsel Borrowers Counsel and State Issuing Authorities to ensure Truist closing policies are maintained through the process of meeting State and Federal tax requirements as well as client needs.
7. Support Tax-Exempt Lending Manager with projects and strategic work assignments as needed. Provide back-up support to other Tax-Exempt Lending Specialists as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required Qualifications:

1. Bachelors degree or equivalent education and related training
2. Six years of commercial lending experience or equivalent
3. Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate (both internally and externally) and manage multiple projects with strong presentation and interpersonal skills
4. Background in loan structuring and decisioning
5. Demonstrated proficiency in basic computer applications such as Microsoft Office software products
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Bachelors degree in Finance Accounting or Economics
2. Two years of securities industry preferably in investment banking or equity capital markets
3. Two years of client facing sales or presentation experience
