WORK LOCATION: Onsite role available at either our Milwaukee WI or Canby OR facility with a requirement of 5 days per week on-site.

SUMMARY

The EMS Quoting Specialist plays a critical role in preparing accurate timely and competitive manufacturing proposals by coordinating closely with cross-functional teams across the organization. This role supports the quoting process by gathering inputs applying business logic and assembling structured responses for PCBAs system integration and box-build opportunities. The ideal candidate will be collaborative detail-oriented and customer-facingable to document and communicate assumptions identify risk areas and reflect our companys professionalism during the quoting stage.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinate with leadership plant management engineering quality materials program management and sales to collect and validate technical operational and commercial inputs for each quote.
  • Develop a strong understanding of the business to collaborate with the sales team in building customer-specific quoting strategies.
  • Coordinate with international offices to ensure timely and accurate delivery of quotes.
  • Review customer RFQ packages and work with internal stakeholders to interpret build requirements documentation and regulatory considerations.
  • Use CalcuQuote and Excel tools to structure and manage quotes ensuring accurate cost inputs formatting and internal alignment.
  • Collaborate with materials and engineering teams to determine appropriate suppliers MOQ strategies and annual usage assumptions that balance availability and cost.
  • Support risk assessment by identifying component-level risks coordinating with supply chain to propose material assurance plans (e.g. alternates bonded inventory).
  • Collaborate with engineering and operations to define cost drivers labor models test and tooling assumptions particularly for production ramp vs. steady-state scenarios.
  • Coordinate quoting efforts for mechanical and non-PCBA items such as cables plastics and subcontracted services including coatings and specialized testing.
  • Communicate directly with customers or prospects to clarify open questions confirm assumptions and present a professional image of our quoting process.
  • Use standardized templates and documentation to consolidate and track open items maintain version control and ensure timely follow-up.
  • Provide daily quote status updates to sales and program management keeping timelines visible and proactive decision-making possible.
  • Document quoting processes continuously improve tools and train other quoting team members as part of a coordinated quoting strategy.
  • Maintain quote activity and pipeline visibility in CRM or quote tracking tools.
  • Support seamless handoff to Program Management and Operations teams upon award ensuring quoting assumptions are clearly communicated.
  • Participate in quote-to-order reviews to identify lessons learned and drive continuous improvement.
  • Benchmark pricing against market trends when possible to support strategic quoting decisions.
  • Assist in fast-turn quoting for prototypes and new product introductions (NPIs) ensuring speed and accuracy under tight timelines.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Associates or Bachelors degree in Engineering Supply Chain Business or a related field preferred; equivalent relevant experience will also be considered.
    35 years of experience in quoting or cost estimation within Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS) or contract manufacturing preferred.
  • Proficiency with CalcuQuote and advanced Excel (BOM scrubbing cost modeling pivot tables logic formulas).
  • Working knowledge of PCB technologies SMT/TH assembly test processes and mechanical sourcing.
  • Strong understanding of BOM structures (top-level and sub) sourcing strategy and margin impacts.
  • Excellent communication skillsable to interface with internal teams and customers confidently and clearly.
  • Experience supporting customer-facing discussions while maintaining strong internal process discipline.
  • Familiarity with quoting across ramp plans automation strategies and cost competitiveness considerations.
  • Strong organizational and follow-up skills with the ability to manage multiple quotes and inputs under tight timelines.
  • Experience coordinating with Mexico-based manufacturing sites or multi-site EMS operations is a plus.
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g. Epicor Oracle SAP) and CRM platforms (e.g. Salesforce HubSpot) preferred.
  • Ability to work across time zones and cultures when coordinating with international teams.
  • Demonstrated experience in process standardization or quoting tool improvement is a plus.
