Performs HIM functions including birth registration customer service/reception chart deficiency analysis chart preparation chart scanning/indexing and legal release of information. Serves as technical expert on HIM systems and provides support to the HIM Systems Coordinator.
One year of medical office experience
One year of experience working with medical records
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing providing excellent customer service
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask and handle multiple priorities/tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
Basic computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Windows
Basic proficiency with MS Office (Outlook Word Excel).
One year of experience working with medical records in an acute care Health Information Management environment
Electronic Medical Record (EMR) experience; Cerner strongly preferred
Completion of a HIM equivalent study course
