Summary
The Document Control Associate observes operational processes and creates or updates documentation such as Work Instructions (WIs) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure they accurately reflect current practices. This position plays a critical role in maintaining a compliant and well-documented quality system and reports to the Quality Manager. This is a 2 month TEMP role.
Job Responsibilities
- Observe manufacturing assembly Facilities testing or operational processes to document actual practices.
- Draft new Work Instructions (WIs) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) based on process observations and team input.
- Review and update existing documents to reflect current methods tools and safety requirements.
- Collaborate with operators engineers and supervisors to validate accuracy of drafted documents.
- Ensure documents meet internal standards for format clarity and compliance.
- Manage revisions and version control in the document control system.
- Coordinate document approvals and controlled distribution.
- Maintain clear records of updated and newly created documents.
- Identify undocumented processes or gaps and propose documentation plans to address them.
Requirements - Ability to observe and accurately document complex operational processes.
- Strong technical writing skills to create clear and concise Work Instructions and SOPs.
- Effectively identifies gaps or discrepancies in existing documentation and communicates with relevant stakeholders.
- Collaborative and professional when interacting with cross-functional teams with a proactive and positive attitude.
Education Certifications Experience
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associate degree preferred
- Comfortable working on the shop floor and engaging directly with operators and technicians.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and document management tools (e.g. SharePoint Google Drive or Quickbase).
Physical Demands & Work Location:
- Fremont CA: This is an on-site job. Reliable commute or planning to relocate before starting work is required.
- Work performed in an office environment and requires ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards
- Be able to lift and/or move objects up to 25 pounds.
- May be required to stand sit squat bend kneel twist crawl reach lift balance push and pull.
- May need to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to a lab coat gloves safety glasses face mask respirator and safety shoes.
Work Schedule
- Three days a week. 20-24 hours weekly
Benefits - Salary: $22.00 per hour.
