JOB SUMMARYThe Assistant Category Manager plays a critical support role in the execution of category strategies ensuring seamless coordination between internal teams suppliers and systems. This position is responsible for item setup SKU maintenance vendor communications and providing analytical support to drive category performance. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented highly organized and capable of managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Support item and promotion setup including the entry of pricing descriptions and attributes into internal systems.
- Manage item setup and ongoing SKU maintenance across systems to ensure accurate product information.
- Collaborate with suppliers to gather and update product images dimensions and packaging specifications.
- Submit and track Return Authorization (RA) requests to vendors for expired product and overage management.
- Coordinate product sample requests to support line reviews merchandising decisions and new item introductions.
- Maintain organized product files vendor contact lists and category-specific documentation.
- Pull and compile scorecards and category performance data to assist Category Managers in monthly reviews and strategy sessions.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Comply with all company policies safety procedures and practices. Promptly report any unsafe conditions or practices to the appropriate channels.
- Participate in team efforts to achieve departmental and organizational goals.
- Provide additional support or perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS- High School diploma or GED equivalent
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant administrative or coordination experience in CPG retail merchandising or supply chain is highly preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite especially Excel and Outlook.
- Strong communication skillsboth written and verbal.
- Ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines.
- Proactive team-oriented and adaptable to evolving priorities.
SALARY: Up to $65000 based on experience
