This is a hybrid role (3 days in office/2 days remote).

Interactive Brokers is looking to hire a Sanctions Operations Analyst at the Chicago Office to serve a critical function in a fast-paced exciting work environment. This is not an entry-level position and experience in sanctions compliance client screening or transaction screening related to sanctions is preferred. The Sanctions Operations Analyst will report to a Sanctions Manager and help ensure the firm complies with U.S. and other relevant economic sanctions laws as it grows and evolves. This is an exciting opportunity to serve on the front lines of financial crime compliance with significant potential for growth.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage multiple queues of client/account screening and real-time transaction screening alerts focusing on alerts tied to onboarding new clients and accounts. Exercise judgment and sanctions knowledge by reviewing prospective clients and transactions against sanctions list data and recommending a disposition
  • Conduct open-source research and client outreach for alerts requiring additional information coordinating with other internal stakeholders as needed.
  • Advise management by collecting analyzing and summarizing data and trends.
  • Maintain accurate tracking of assignments to ensure appropriate deadlines are met.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline or improve current processes
  • Perform supplementary sanctions due diligence and research for more complex escalations

The ideal candidate will have sanctions or anti-money laundering operations team experience at a financial services firm exchange regulatory organization a Broker Dealer (BD) a Futures Commission Merchant (FCM) or a similar organization. Strong knowledge of OFAC or other sanctions regulations and expertise in sanctions risks and typologies are a plus.

Qualifications:

  • High degree of comfort and fluency with computers and understanding of how technology is applied to business and regulatory problems
  • Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to summarize complex fact patterns in writing clearly and succinctly
  • Detail-oriented with outstanding organizational and project management skills
  • Ability to work both independently as well as in a small team environment and to multitask with minimal supervision
  • 1-3 Years of experience in Sanctions Compliance
  • CGSS CSS ACAMS CFCS Series 7 or other FINRA licenses or certifications are a plus
