POSITION SPECIFICS
The Student Support Center is part of a collaborative student-centered network within the College of Engineering dedicated to connecting students with the resources guidance and support they need to successfully navigate their academic journey. We are seeking a front-facing detail-oriented and inclusive individual with a welcoming demeanor and strong organizational skills to join our innovative team.
MINIMUM EDUCATION WORK EXPERIENCE & REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS
If filled as Administrative Assistant - Intermediate Support this position requires: General Equivalency Diploma (GED) or High School (HS) 2 years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience accepted Required Certifications: None If filled as Administrative Assistant - Support this position requires: General Equivalency Diploma (GED) or High School (HS) No prior relevant work experience required; previous relevant work experience accepted in lieu of education. Required Certifications: NoneThis position provides administrative and front-line support for the Student Support Center including the Office of the Assistant Dean for Academic Support and Global Programs the Center for Engineering Outreach and Inclusion and other faculty and staff engaged in student support.
Primary Responsibilities:
Serve as the first point of contact at the Student Support Center front desk managing phone email and walk-in inquiries with professionalism and care.
Coordinate advising schedules manage student rosters for academic advisers and support staff and facilitate various activities of the student support team such as Zoom drop-in sessions New Student Orientation (NSO) and Spend a Summer Day.
Assist students in scheduling appointments navigating student systems and understanding academic requirements.
Triage student questions to ensure timely and appropriate referrals.
Additional Responsibilities:
Support prospective and incoming student activities
Work with student academic records and assist with special projects and initiatives as needed.
Required Skills and Attributes:
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to work independently and demonstrate sound decision-making.
A commitment to creating an inclusive welcoming environment for all students.
Patience professionalism and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
Comfortablehandling frequent interruptions and multitasking effectively.
Experience interpreting and applying academic policies and procedures is a plus.

SALARY & BENEFITS
