All of our students study Spanish and take Kodaly music classes four days per week. This performance-based music education system brings music to life through multicultural folk songs dances

The Opportunity:
The Fletcher Maynard Academy (FMA) a diverse and innovative elementary school in Cambridge MA is seeking dynamic and committed educators to join our fourth-grade teaching team for theschool year. We are looking for teachers who are passionate about equity rigorous academics and student-centered learning. Our ideal candidates bring strong instructional knowledge cultural responsiveness and a deep commitment to collaboration and growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality instruction in English Language Arts (CKLA) Mathematics (Illustrative Math) Social Studies and Science.
- Implement the Wayfinder Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) curriculum as part of daily instruction Plan and deliver engaging culturally responsive lessons aligned with Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks.
- Use data to differentiate instruction and support diverse learners Maintain a safe inclusive and student-focused classroom environment
- Communicate regularly and effectively with families
- Collaborate with colleagues and school leadership as part of a professional learning community
- Participate in professional development and school-wide events
- Work an 8-hour school day and contribute to the broader FMA community
Your Skill Set:
As the incoming Grade 4 Teacheryou will possess many though perhaps not all of the following characteristics and qualifications:
- Massachusetts State Elementary 1-6 teacher certification and SEI Endorsement (required)
- Bachelors degree required from an accredited college or university Masters degree in elementary education preferred
- Experience working in urban or diverse school settings
- Familiarity and success with CKLA and Illustrative Math curriculum
- Strong communication organization and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to equity inclusion and whole-child development
