Job Description

The Opportunity:

Under limited supervision responsibilities for assisting with facilities and laboratory operations customer service delivery and environmental health/safety. Serve as a relationship leader to the customer as well as licensees. Communicate safety initiatives and other customer information for compliance with site SOPs.

In this role you will report to the Onsite Supervisor and will work closely with the Avantors Lab and Production Services professionals to serve our customers by performing customized mission-based lab work and research protocols that help return time back to science.

Location: Spring House PA

Shift: 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM (Monday - Friday)

Hourly Rate: $25.00 - $27.00

What were looking for

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED

  • Associate Degree preferredin a related field such as: Laboratory Technology Facilities Management Environmental Health & Safety Supply Chain or Logistics

  • Bachelors Degreepreferredin: Biology Chemistry or a related science Operations Management

  • Experience: 24 yearsof relevant experience in: Laboratory operations or Laboratory support & Instrument Troubleshooting

  • Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) compliance

  • Shipping/receiving and procurement processes

  • Collaboration Tool: Microsoft Teams experience preferred

  • Experience working inregulated environments(e.g. biotech pharma academic research labs)

  • Familiarity withlab equipment maintenanceandpreventive maintenance scheduling

  • Hands-on experience withhazardous materials handlingandcold storage systems

  • Use ofinventory management systems(e.g. SAP Avantor IMS ChemSW)

Avantors Lab and Production Services team is a crucial part of the Avantor Services group serving over 500 customers in biopharma pharmaceutical educational industrial and high-tech industries with customizable flexible solutions and end-to-end laboratory operations support.

In this role you will:

  • Equipment Maintenance:Coordinate preventive maintenance (PM) for lab equipment and maintain PM tracking systems. Perform routine maintenance on refrigeration units.

  • Equipment Training & Documentation:Provide basic training on common lab equipment assist with troubleshooting and help develop work instructions using manufacturer documentation.

  • Help Desk Oversight:Manage the Help Desk system triage incoming tickets and escalate Business Operations-related issues as needed.

  • Procurement Support:Assist with obtaining quotes creating purchase orders and following up with vendors for lab office and facility supplies.

  • Hazardous Material Handling:Ensure proper storage and handling of chemical and biological materials in compliance with safety standards.

  • Cold Storage Monitoring:Oversee usage and replenishment of cryogenic gases and dry ice; support cold storage monitoring through software systems.

  • Lab Area Maintenance:Help maintain cleanliness and organization in shared laboratory spaces.

  • Shipping & Receiving Support:Provide backup support for receiving shipments notifying recipients and managing unclaimed packages using tracking software.

  • Specialty Equipment Training:Coordinate training sessions for specialized equipment based on licensee requests and notify the Operations Manager.

  • EHS Compliance Support:Assist staff licensees vendors and visitors in adhering to EHS policies and procedures
