Business Teacher

TITLE: Business Teacher High School SUMMARY: Reporting to the Building Principal the High School Business Teacher is responsible for delivering engaging and comprehensive instruction in business concepts entrepreneurship and financial literacy. The role requires fostering critical thinking and problem-solving skills among students while preparing them for real-world applications in business. The teacher will also collaborate with colleagues local businesses support school improvement initiatives and engage in job-embedded responsibilities that contribute to a positive and productive school DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Instructional ResponsibilitiesTeach courses such as Business Principles Entrepreneurship Marketing Financial Literacy and other related subjects as assigned by the well-structured standards-based units and lessons that incorporate real-world business scenarios and practical varied instructional strategies including project-based learning to engage students and promote critical student competence in problem-solving decision-making and entrepreneurial mindset and Data UseUse formative and summative assessments to measure student learning and inform instructional student learning data to adjust teaching strategies and improve and implement a capstone project for seniors who are not doing an internship for the Business pathway. Classroom Management and EnvironmentDevelop and maintain a classroom environment conducive to learning characterized by high expectations and classroom management strategies that promote positive behavior and active students during instructional and non-instructional periods as and Professional DevelopmentWork closely with colleagues to align curriculum plan instruction and share effective teaching in professional development activities to enhance instructional skills and stay updated on business education in job-embedded responsibilities such as mentoring coaching and leading professional learning and Community EngagementCommunicate regularly with families about student progress and classroom two-way communication strategies to involve families in the educational and implement and consistently monitor internships for students in the Business Improvement and LeadershipContribute to school improvement initiatives by participating in committees supporting school-wide goals and leading activities aligned with the schools building-level administration in supervising students and enforcing school ResponsibilitiesParticipate actively in events such as career fairs student clubs and business other duties as assigned by building QUALIFICATIONS:Education and ExperienceBachelors Degree in Business Business Education or a related field from an accredited college or DESE certification and licensure in Business 9-12 and/or Mathematics of meeting Massachusetts Department of Education standards for Highly Qualified Teacher -world business experience is preferred. Knowledge Skills and AbilitiesKnowledge of core business principles including marketing finance entrepreneurship and in preparing and delivering effective business instruction aligned with current industry to incorporate technology and digital tools into instruction to enhance classroom management and student engagement communication and collaboration to maintain accurate records and use data to inform DemandsAbility to remain stationary for extended periods demonstrate techniques and move up to 25 may be made for individuals with disabilities to perform the essential essential duties and responsibilities listed are intended only as an illustration of the type of work that may be performed.
