The Opportunity:

In collaboration with the grade level team and coaches the teacher will create a well-structured learning environment that builds on student strengths and supports independence. Duties will include planning for and teaching all subjects; working with colleagues to review student work; participation in ongoing staff development; assessing student progress and conducting parent conferences. The teacher will work collaboratively with Special Education staff to support students with disabilities and Multilingual Learner (ML) staff to support ML students.

The teacher will build and sustain a classroom community that provides a safe and nurturing learning environment with clear and high expectations for all students. As a professional the teacher will display a collegial spirit that supports and enhances continual professional growth consistent with the educational goals and philosophies of the Graham and Parks School and be fully committed to continuously learning improving reflecting and working together as a community to ensure that all students achieve at high levels.

Your Skill Set:

As the incoming Grade 3 Teacher you will possess many though perhaps not all of the following characteristics and qualifications:

• Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university required; Masters degree preferred.
• Previous experience working with elementary age children especially in an urban setting.
• Respect for differences in the development of children.
• Massachusetts Licensure: Elementary Education 1-6 required.
