The Department of Criminal Justice Services is seeking a collaborative and innovative team player to serve as a full-time Online Training Resource and Support Coordinator in Richmond Virginia. This position supports the Division of Public Safety Training and the Virginia Center for School and Campus Safety (PST-VCSCS). What you will do:
Direct and assist in the development of necessary resources and content associated with the Division of Public Safety Training and the Virginia Center for School and Campus Safety (PST-VCSCS) in support of the duties and responsibilities of school and campus security departments school resource officers K-12 school personnel and institutions of higher education personnel as it relates to safety and security and positive school climates.
Collaborate with PST-VCSCS staff to develop digital resources and support training initiatives.
Develop revise and update existing DCJS resources as needed.
Work to support and maintain the agencys learning management system.
Support PST-VCSCS staff with technical support and training as it relates to new agency initiatives.
Provide support to school personnel and law enforcement agencies on related PST-VCSCS programs.
Provide technical assistance to constituents on training policies and regulations within the Commonwealth.
Demonstrate quality service to all customers both internal and external to this agency through prompt and courteous responses to requests.
Assist in the acquisition and implementation and/or support of technology programs as it relates to PST-VCSCS mandates and goals.
Use web-based tools to maintain resources and support PST-VCSCS initiatives.
Assist with the maintenance of training certifications or updating conference/training registration and attendance procedures.
Follow up and analyze data from training programs through instructional assessments student evaluations and/or tests including the school safety audit program.
Provide support to colleagues multi-disciplinary teams boards advisory groups committees associations and commissions in the development and delivery of law enforcement related training and professional development courses in person online and in webinar format.
Minimum Qualifications
Knowledge and experience with learning management systems.
Strong customer service skills and experience with supporting adults with technical assistance.
Experience in reviewing and developing materials and resources for adults.
Demonstrated proficiency in word processing and knowledge of the Microsoft Office email and internet software.
Attention to detail.
Ability to exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality.
Documented experience in working both as an active and contributing team member as well as independently.
Ability to articulate both orally and in written form clear and concise program objectives and goals and summarize achievements of programs in reports and other documents as requested.
Demonstrated ability to meet critical deadlines handle multiple assignments changing priorities and ensure timeliness and quality of completed assignments.
Additional Considerations
Experience in developing eLearning modules and content.
Experience working in education communications or government services.
Ability to analyze and interpret laws rules/regulations and policies and procedures.
Ability to perform lead or supervise a wide variety of moderate to complex program and operational support duties.
Experience analyzing and preparing reports and materials for presentation.
Experience with developing in-person and virtual training.
Familiarity with adult learning best practices.
Special Instructions
Interview candidates may be required to demonstrate the skills and abilities necessary for satisfactory performance of work. The candidate selected for the position must successfully complete a criminal background investigation and complete and submit a Form I-9 (Employment Eligibility Verification) which will be entered into the Federal E-Verify system to confirm identity and work authorization. The individual may also be responsible for submitting an annual Statement of Personal Economic Interest. In addition the selected candidate who begins original employment or re-employment in this position must serve a 12-month probationary period effective from the date of employment. The anticipated starting salary range is $64000 to $74000 plus the states benefits package.
