Job Title: Child Outreach ScreenerCoventry Public Schools / Child Outreach ProgramChild Outreach Program Description: Child Outreach is a free developmental screening program offered through public schools statewide in conjunction with the Rhode Island Department of Education. The Child Outreach screening is a brief look at childrens development in the areas of hearing vision speech/language development general development as well as social-emotional development. Following the screening the results are sent to families. Key Responsibilities: Conduct developmental screenings for 3 4 and 5 year old children under the supervision of the Child Outreach Coordinator at various early childhood programs in Coventry and in some cases the surrounding areas Enter screening data into the KIDSNET data entry system Assist the Child Outreach Coordinator with outreach efforts on an as needed basisParticipate in initial one time training to learn administration of the screening toolsParticipate in initial one time data entry tutorial instructionRequired Qualifications or Experience: High School Diploma or equivalentFoundational understanding of early childhood development Some experience with young children in the 3 to 5 year age rangeLocation: Primarily in the town of Coventry at private child care centers preschool programs various designated screening sites Washington Oak School Child Outreach/ Early Childhood OfficeEmployment Type: Part time position with varied days from week to week. Screenings are conducted Monday through Friday. Screening schedules are determined on a week to week basis with advanced notice. Screenings are conducted primarily in the mornings. There are some afternoon screenings. Child Outreach screenings follow the Coventry Public Schools calendarSalary Range or Benefits: Minimum wage. No benefits
