We are currently seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with a focus on tax to join a well-established and employee-focused public accounting firm based in Lenexa Kansas. This is an in-office position with the potential for hybrid flexibility after the initial training period.

Position OverviewAs a Tax CPA you will be responsible for preparing federal and state tax returns for various entity types conducting tax research and providing strategic advisory services. This is a client-facing role requiring strong tax technical skills attention to detail and effective communication.
You ll work in a collaborative and supportive environment where productivity is measured by impact and not just hours with no billable-hour tracking and Fridays off during the summer.
Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare federal and state income tax returns for individuals corporations and partnerships
Provide proactive tax planning and consulting to clients to minimize liabilities and ensure compliance
Conduct research on complex tax issues and stay current on federal and state legislation
Maintain strong client relationships through timely responses and clear communication
Represent clients during interactions with tax authorities as needed
Collaborate with colleagues to deliver integrated financial and advisory services
Active CPA license (Required)
Bachelor s degree in Accounting or Finance; Master s or advanced degree in Taxation preferred
3 years of hands-on experience preparing individual and business tax returns with a strong focus on corporate returns
Strong understanding of federal and state tax codes and regulations
Ability to analyze and interpret financial statements
Proficiency with tax software such as UltraTax ProConnect or similar platforms
Excellent problem-solving analytical and organizational skills
Strong written and verbal communication abilities
Ability to meet deadlines while maintaining high-quality work
Tax Season Bonus Eligible
No billable hour tracking average total work hours annually are around 2100 (including non-billable)
Fridays off during summer months (Memorial Day Labor Day)
