Position Summary:
The Facilities Manager in collaboration with the Director of Support Services is responsible for the maintenance safety and overall functionality of all buildings grounds and physical infrastructure across Sapulpa Public Schools. This includes academic campuses administrative offices and athletic complexes. The role ensures that every facility provides a safe clean and supportive environment for learning extracurricular programs and athletic events.
Key Responsibilities:
General Facilities Oversight
- Works with the custodial maintenance HVAC and groundskeeping teams across all district sites.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules for buildings systems and grounds.
- Perform regular inspections and assessments to ensure buildings and grounds meet district standards.
Compliance & Safety
- Ensure compliance with building codes health and safety regulations ADA standards and emergency procedures.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and lead districtwide facility safety protocols.
Athletics Facilities & Event Support
- Oversee maintenance cleanliness and safety of all indoor and outdoor athletic facilities including stadiums fields gymnasiums and courts.
- Coordinate with the athletic director and coaches to prepare facilities for practices games tournaments and other events.
- Schedule and supervise field maintenance including turf care lighting bleacher inspection and scoreboard functionality.
- Assist with event setup breakdown and logistics for home games and large athletic events.
Staff Leadership
- Recruit train and evaluate facilities personnel; develop schedules and assignments to meet district needs.
- Promote a culture of safety professionalism and teamwork.
Technology & Systems Management
- Use work order and facilities management software to monitor and track maintenance requests and responses.
- Maintain records of inspections permits warranties and service histories.
Collaboration & Communication
- Serve as liaison between operations and district/school leadership to prioritize and resolve facility needs.
- Work collaboratively with principals the athletic department and extracurricular coordinators to support school functions and student events.
Emergency Preparedness
- Respond to facility-related emergencies during and outside of regular business hours.
- Participate in planning for inclement weather and crisis response readiness.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required; Bachelors degree in Education Facilities Management Construction Engineering or related field preferred.
- Demonstrated experience maintaining athletic or recreational facilities.
- Experience managing staff and outside contractors.
- Familiarity with OSHA standards building codes ADA regulations and athletic safety guidelines.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks as needed.
- Strong organizational problem-solving and communication skills.
- Valid drivers license and reliable transportation required.
