Job Description

You will be contacted directly by the facility after applying to this Healthcare is looking for a passionate Primary Care Physician to join our team at the Community Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC) in Kosciusko MS. Valor operates more than 50 VA CBOCs in the United States as a contractor for the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. We provide a full range of medical services to veterans through the operations of CBOCs tailored to meet the specific needs of local VA medical centers. Our comprehensive set of services includes primary care diagnostics laboratory telehealth behavioral health and a Primary Care Physician you will provide prescribed medical treatment and personal care services to patients with diseases and injuries seeking treatment in the clinic as directed by physician or mid-level provider. You will collaborate with the core PACT Team (Primary Care Provider RN and Medical Assistant) and expanded PACT Team including family/caregiver VA and community-based services involved in developing the patient care plan.** New IM or FM graduate residents are welcome to apply!Core ResponsibilitiesActively diagnoses and treats our patients for symptoms of organic or congenital disorders determines nature and extent of injury/disorder and performs comprehensive physical and implements patient management plans and assists in provision of continuity of and performs diagnostic medication and recommends dietary and activity programs as indicated by patients on the use of prescription medications educates patients assesses mental health issues and provides routine health patients records from medical providers outside the VA and works with these patients utilizing rules set forth by the VA for co-managed any and all clinical reminders due at the time of each patient the documentation of the medical record within 24 hours of a patient medical management consult or input when comply with all VA guidelines in regard to appropriate and timely response to all patient request alerts and notifications consults orders lab results and diagnostic comply with the VA formulary process and consult serve as a collaborative physician to mid-levels where appropriate and comply with all VA guidelines in regard to appropriate and timely clinical documentation including the completion of all encounters by close of address the clinical needs of all walk-in/triage/urgent care comply with all VA and company training comply with VA requirements related to womens health certification and competencies as well as any elements needed for maintenance of such compliance requirements of the Office of Inspector General (OIG) Joint Commission (JC) Environment of Care (EOC) oversight lab compliance and other related focused on achieving excellent clinical outcomes through the specified VA provide excellent customer service to each veteran both in person and over the phone as well as to fellow colleagues and clinic in the clinics outreach events to help support the clinics enrollment patient enrollment and retention by providing guidance when necessary regarding scheduling follow-up visits or nurse and support new initiatives whether clinical or operational and execute on key strategic initiatives that drive the success of the Valor 4 years clinical medical practice; government healthcare environment preferred; specific requirements could vary based on individual VA of Medicine or Osteopathic Medicine DegreeBoard certified in family practice or internal medicineMust be credentialed and remain in good standing through the Veterans Health Administration (VA).Must comply with and maintain all requirements for a valid unrestricted license in the state of desired employment or in any U.S. state or territory depending on VA contractual certification in Basic Life Support (must be renewed periodically as specified by the certifying agency AHA valid for two years e.g.) and in ACLS as specified by individual VAMC contractCurrent unrestricted Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) registrationProficiency in written and spoken computer skillsEnergetic and optimistic demeanorStrong service mentality and a focus on achieving all aspects of defined service standardThis is considered a safety sensitive positionQualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race color religion sex national origin sexual orientation gender identity disability or protected veteran status.
