JOB TITLE:Instructional Technology Coordinator Assistant

DEPARTMENT:Teaching and Learning/ Technology

REPORTS TO:Instructional Technology Coordinator

FLSA STATUS:Non-exempt

EMPLOYMENT STATUS:12 month

POSITION SUMMARY:

The 1:1 Instructional Technology Coordinator assistant will work as a catalyst to provide input in the development of a district-wide program that enables teachers and students to use electronic devices as learning tools. This position provides leadership staff development and classroom instruction with electronic devices. They will plan and implement distribution management repairs and collection of the devices as well as keep up with device inventory and insurance accounts. In addition the 1:1 Instructional Technology Coordinator assistant will help teach the Chrome Depot classes assist in repairing devices and manage all accounts associated with the class. This skilled professional will work with the SPS Curriculum Department developing and implementing strategies to positively encourage staff reflection on pedagogy digital citizenship and the integration of digital teaching and learning. The 1:1 Instructional Technology Coordinator assistant will promote academic technologies that are effective sustainable and consistent with Sapulpa Public Schools culture and will lend to the success of all the Districts digital curriculum endeavors with highest professionalism.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Education:. High School Diploma Computer/Technology certificatepreferred.

Experience: Minimum of 3 years of successful verifiable/related technology experience. Work experience in technology related and/or public school setting required. Must be highly motivated and have a positive attitude.

Skills: Proficient in use of educational technology and computer applications; excellent written and oral communication ability; Must possess valid Oklahoma Drivers license and a personal vehicle.

1:1 Device Coordinator assistant will:

  • Coordinates distribution management repair & collection of devices.
  • Maintain accurate records involving device use inventory and maintenance.
  • Manages device insurance account.
  • Gathers information documenting the effectiveness of the 1:1 program interprets this information and provides constructive input in evaluation of the program.
  • Communicates with school and district personnel parents and community to share information about the technology integration program.
  • Provides assistance in the selection ordering receiving and installing new equipment.
  • Communicates with technology vendors when requested to do so by district leadership.
  • Answer the helpdesk phone calls to assist IT.

Instructional Leadership

  • Assist Instructor for Chrome Depot classe(s).
  • Able to instruct students in district approved technology coursework / certification
  • Assists in the development and implementation of technology professional development.
  • Investigates and disseminates information on best practices for technology integration sources of information on trends research and applications related to technology use in the school program.
  • Helps provides training to teachers in the use of current technology to meet curriculum goals when needed.
  • Provides training to ensure integration of device competencies as outlined at the district state and national level.
  • Provides resource information relating to new techniques and practices that relate to the use of technology and that enable teachers and students to use technology as a learning tool.

Technical Skills:

  • Experience in 21st century technology skills.
  • Familiarity with Chromebooks and other electronic devices.
  • Willingness to learn how to repair Chromebooks and other electronic devices.
  • Experience in Google Apps for Education or will dedicate time to learn or attend events to become familiar with Google Apps and/or new emerging platforms.
  • Knowledge of current instructional theories for collaborative learning with web-based tools.
  • Willingness to learn districts Learning Management System and become familiar with the digital curriculum and present to educators in the district.
  • Willingness to learn how to repair and become credentialed to repair electronic devices.
  • Analyze problems reported by customers using a database of resolutions to identify all first level problems with district technology systems and services.
  • Answer all incoming calls phone and e-mail requests.
  • Interface with vendors on third-party support or maintenance agreements.
  • Follow up on work order status to ensure incidents and requests are resolved in a timely manner.
  • Follow up on the resolution of incidents and requests to ensure all details are accurately recorded in work order.
  • Procactively call users to confirm incidents/requests have been resolved and that the quality of the service received was satisfactory.
  • Ensure work order resolutions in database are updated and accurate on a daily basis.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Director of Teaching and Learningand/or Designees.
  • Ability to commuicate effectively calmly and patiently with both tecnical and non-technical audiences.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read analyze journals technical reports and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers regulatory agencies or members of the business community. Ability to effectively present information to district management public groups and/or boards of education.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to apply intermediate mathematical concepts.

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out written and oral instructions. Ability to define problems collect data establishes facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to read analyze journals technical repair manuals.

OTHER SKILLS/EXPECTATIONS: Develops cooperative and functional relationships with district staff and the public; maintains consistent and punctual attendance; insures job responsibilities are met competently and within established deadlines.

While performing the duties of this job the employee is frequently required to sit stand

walk climb stairs and lift heavy objects up to 50 lbs. Technical skills to repair equipment is required and may require training.
