Job Description

Do you have a passion for making a real difference in the lives of people living with mental health challenges and disabilities Easterseals PORT Health is seeking a dedicated Eligibility & Collections Specialist to join our Revenue Cycle team. In this vital role you will help drive access to care by ensuring clean claims accurate billing and thoughtful patient communication around financial responsibilities. At Easterseals PORT Health we believe in treating the whole person. That includes supporting individuals and families through the financial side of treatment with compassion accuracy and a solutions-focused mindset.

What Youll Do

Eligibility Support

  • Verify insurance eligibility and benefits including deductibles co-pays and coinsurance
  • Complete insurance verification for all newly admitted clients in Welligent
  • Update and monitor patient insurance to support clean timely billing
  • Review and resolve eligibility denials and rejections
  • Collect Coordination of Benefits (COB) info and support Pro Bono/Charity Care documentation

Collections Support

  • Audit and reconcile Self-Pay balances for accuracy
  • Generate and send statement reports to program staff
  • Communicate directly with patients via phone mail and email about outstanding balances
  • Set up payment plans in line with company policy and post payments in the EHR system
  • Create/manage patient portal accounts and respond to billing inquiries

Teamwork & Communication

  • Raise issues and share updates with leadership to ensure smooth operations
  • Collaborate on process improvements and internal reporting
  • Support other claims/collections tasks as needed

What Were Looking For

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Minimum 2 years experience in:
    • Medicaid Medicare Private Insurance and Managed Care (MCO)
    • Medical and/or Behavioral Health Claims & Collections
  • Strong knowledge of Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) co-pays coinsurance deductibles and denial codes
  • Customer service and problem-solving expertise
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word Excel Outlook
