Job Description

This opportunity is in anticipation of an upcoming contract award! The Multi-Domain Solutions (MDS) division at Leidos is seeking a Facilities Engineering Manager who is responsible for the planning operation and maintenance of building systems and infrastructure across the organizations facilities. This role ensures the performance reliability and regulatory compliance of all facility systems while supporting long-term strategic planning sustainability and energy efficiency objectives. The manager leads a team of engineers technicians and contractors and plays a key role in overseeing engineering projects and capital improvements.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage engineering staff technicians and contractors involved in facility operations maintenance and infrastructure projects.
  • Oversee the design installation operation and maintenance of mechanical electrical plumbing (MEP) HVAC and structural systems.
  • Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs to ensure optimal performance and system reliability.
  • Manage facility engineering projects from concept through completion including renovations retrofits and infrastructure upgrades.
  • Ensure all facility systems and operations comply with safety environmental energy and building codes and standards.
  • Collaborate with Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Facility Operations and other stakeholders to support business continuity and sustainability initiatives.
  • Support emergency response planning for critical infrastructure and utility systems.
  • Prepare and manage engineering budgets cost estimates and resource allocation for operations and capital projects.
  • Develop and maintain performance metrics dashboards and reporting systems for operations and project management.
  • Identify and drive improvements to building performance energy efficiency and lifecycle cost management.
  • Serve as subject matter expert in facility engineering providing technical guidance and strategic input to leadership.

Basic Qualifications

  • TS/SCI w/ Poly Clearance is required
  • Bachelors degree (BA/BS) in Engineering or related technical discipline; or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant engineering experience or 6 years with a Masters degree.
  • At least 4 years of experience supervising or leading engineering teams or projects.
  • Demonstrated experience applying engineering principles to product development design improvements and business strategy.
  • Proven success managing multiple small-to-mid-scale projects with cross-functional complexity.
  • Experience in budget management including forecasting and cost tracking within an assigned area.
  • Strong skills in project management risk assessment and quality control.
  • Effective communicator with the ability to influence both internal and external stakeholders on technical and operational policies.
  • Working knowledge of systems engineering process improvement and resource planning.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Masters degree in Engineering Systems Engineering or Business-related field.
  • Professional certifications such as PMP Six Sigma or Lean Engineering.
  • Experience overseeing design innovation new product development and technology integration across business units.
  • Advanced expertise in systems engineering including lifecycle planning and system integration.
  • Strong background in developing engineering proposals identifying new markets and driving process optimization initiatives.
  • Proven ability to lead and develop large diverse engineering teams with minimal oversight.
  • Familiarity with industry-specific standards and regulations in engineering and product development.
  • Experience in workforce planning talent development and organizational leadership at a strategic level.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $126100.00 - $227950.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline onlyand not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job education experience knowledge skills and abilities as well as internal equity alignment with market data applicable bargaining agreement (if any) or other law.
