Job Description
Based in the The Junction area of Toronto we are actively seeking a dedicated experienced Weekend Dispatch Coordinator for a part time position. The typical schedule for this position is Saturdays 8am to 6 pm and Sundays 8am to 2 pm. The role will involve facilitating the timely pick-up and delivery of shipments while maintaining 24/7 communication with our esteemed customers and carriers.
Qualifications :
- Hands-on dispatch operations for full truckload (FTL) freight moving throughout North America.
- Display a strong sense of urgency when dealing with customers and account managers requiring dispatch updates.
- Ensure carriers have the appropriate details/instructions for pickups and deliveries.
- Update the TMS (transportation management system) with the appropriate load updates.
- Provide first-class customer service to Customer/Driver inquiries by email and telephone.
- Communicate with Drivers Shippers Receivers and Account Managers to provide and ensure accurate tracking updates.
Qualifications and Skills
- Self-motivated and solid ability to work professionally and autonomously.
- Superior customer service and communication skills (both spoken and written).
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to thrive while dealing with several tasks and multiple priorities.
- Post-Secondary Education preferred
- Proficiency in MS Office applications.
Experience:
- Experience in a Call Centre or Telemarketing environment.
- Experience within the transportation industry.
- Understanding of the truckload freight transportation industry.
- Knowledge of North American geography and roadways.
