BGC Okanagan is hiring part time Community Support Workers for our Club on 35th Ave in Vernon. Our programs provide safe and supportive spaces where children youth and families can experience new opportunities overcome barriers build positive relationships and build confidence and skills for life.
These roles are temporary from June 2025 August 31 2025.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Participates in the assessment goal setting and program planning such as Support Plans for individuals with support needs. Documents and implements the plan. Provides input into the evaluation of the program in consultation with the program manager.
- Evaluates participants needs and develop short-term plans to meet such needs with families.
- Support participants in working towards having independence or semi-independence in the community by assisting participants with daily life skills social skills and/or behavior management. Teaches and assists participants with activities such as personal hygiene basic cooking money management shopping and household safety. Facilitates physical recreational educational social and vocational activities.
- Assists with the intake process to ensure assessment program registration and all documentation is completed prior to the service beginning for assigned programs.
- Recognizes analyzes and deals with potential emergency situations such as participants aggressive behavior to minimize potential harm to the participants and/or the public. Reports problems to the supervisor.
- Administers medication to clients in accordance with established policy.
- Ensures health and safety standards are maintained.
- Provides feedback and support to participants and their families.
- Maintains written reports regarding participants daily activities and progress. This includes progress reports transition reports and daily case notes. Ensures that all required documentation is complete accurate and up to date.
- Transport participants from school sites to club sites or out trips.
- Performs other related duties as required.
Qualifications:
- Diploma in a related human/social service field one (1) year recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education training and experience.
- Class 4 drivers license or willingness to obtain as soon as possible.
- Successful completion of Agency screening process including criminal record check

Hours: Role 1: 22.5 hours per week Monday to Friday
Role 2: 30 hours per week Monday to Friday
Rate of Pay: $22.28 per hour
