Job Description
JOB TITLE: Elementary Music Teacher 1.0 FTE
REPORTS TO: Building Principal
JOB SUMMARY: To provide education services to students in a classroom setting. The teacher instructs students maintains student discipline and is responsible for student academic achievement.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors Degree or higher.
- Hold or be eligible for Oregon Teaching Certification with Elementary Level authorization and a music endorsement.
- Ability to establish positive working relationships with students staff and parents.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Trauma Informed Care & Restorative Practices knowledge.
- SIOP/Constructing Meaning training.
- Spanish language skills
SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide Music instruction within the elementary school aligned with the Oregon Content and Performance Standards.
- Plans a program of study that meets the individual needs interests and abilities of students.
- Prepares and administers subject/topical specific tests to measure student abilities and progress.
- Designs and implements appropriate instruction assigned in accordance with students needs District curriculum and state standards.
- Conducts appropriate assessments of students work and maintains accurate and regular data on students in areas of attendance grades and IEP progress if applicable.
- Work with other staff as part of a team to provide the best instruction possible to students.
- Computer/technology skills.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 190-Day Contract at 1.0 FTE. Based on current SEA salary schedule and negotiated agreement salary dependent on the negotiated agreement ($50073-$101649 annually) with excellent benefits including Medical Dental and Vision insurance and Oregon state retirement. Paid time off includes one sick day per month worked and three personal days pro-rated per school year. Benefit information can be found at Open until filled. Starts Fall 2025 pending board approval of the 2025-2026 budget.
