Azure DevOps Expert (SME)

As an Azure DevOps (ADO) Expert you will play a pivotal role in enabling and optimizing the use of Azure DevOps across multiple Agile Release Trains (ARTs) within a SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) environment. You will serve as a key member of the Shared Service System Team supporting both hardware and software development teams by defining implementing and maintaining ADO standards and best practices. Your expertise will ensure seamless collaboration traceability and delivery across all ARTs driving continuous improvement and alignment with SAFe principles.

How You ll Make an Impact

• Define and Maintain ADO Standards: Develop document and enforce Azure DevOps standards templates and processes for all ARTs ensuring consistency and compliance across hardware and software domains.
• Support Multiple ARTs: Act as the primary ADO subject matter expert for several ARTs providing guidance troubleshooting and hands-on support to teams and stakeholders.
• SAFe Alignment: Collaborate with Release Train Engineers (RTEs) Product Owners Scrum Masters and System Architects to ensure ADO practices align with SAFe roles events and artifacts.
• Toolchain Integration: Integrate Azure DevOps with other enterprise tools (e.g. test management CI/CD requirements management) to support end-to-end delivery pipelines.
• Process Improvement: Continuously assess and enhance ADO usage driving automation reporting and dashboarding to improve transparency traceability and delivery efficiency.
• Training and Coaching: Deliver training sessions workshops and one-on-one coaching to ART members and stakeholders on ADO best practices and new features.
• Governance and Compliance: Ensure that all ADO configurations and processes adhere to organizational governance security and compliance requirements.
• Metrics and Reporting: Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to provide actionable insights into ART performance quality and delivery metrics.
• Cross-Team Collaboration: Facilitate knowledge sharing and collaboration between ARTs fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

What You Bring

• Experience: 6 years of experience in DevOps Application Lifecycle Management or related IT roles with at least 3 years of hands-on experience administering and optimizing Azure DevOps in a scaled agile environment.
• SAFe Knowledge: Deep understanding of SAFe methodology with proven experience supporting ARTs and Shared Service Teams. SAFe certification (e.g. SAFe Agilist SAFe DevOps Practitioner) is a strong plus.
• Technical Expertise: Advanced knowledge of Azure DevOps (Boards Repos Pipelines Test Plans Artifacts) automation and integration with other tools.
• Hardware & Software Development: Experience supporting both hardware and software development lifecycles within Azure DevOps.
• Process Orientation: Strong skills in process definition documentation and continuous improvement.
• Collaboration: Excellent interpersonal facilitation and communication skills with the ability to work effectively across multiple teams and stakeholders.
• Training & Support: Demonstrated ability to train coach and support users at all levels of the organization.
• Problem Solving: Proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues with a focus on enabling team success and delivery excellence.
