Job Description

EHS Jr

Position Objective:

Lead and implement environmental and safety projects technically advising the various departments on continuous improvement and implementation and maintenance of established operational programs. Ensure compliance with corporate EHS strategies. In addition provide support to the Corporate Social Responsibility coordination (9) to ensure the integration of sustainable and responsible practices throughout the organization.

Requirements:

  • Schooling: Chemical Environmental Renewable Energies Industrial or related careers.
  • Advanced English.
  • Knowledge of the applicable regulations for the management of hazardous and non-hazardous waste.
  • Knowledge of safety and environmental regulations.
  • Internal auditor of the ISO 14001 standard.
  • Knowledge of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
  • Experience in the planning and execution of internal and external environmental audits.

Main Functions:

  • Advise departments on environmental and safety issues through meetings training and technical guidance providing clear and accurate information to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and best practices.
  • Verify and ensure that facilities both owned and leased as well as machinery and equipment are in optimal safety and environmental conditions to prevent occupational hazards and minimize environmental impacts.
  • Manage and control the activities of contractors suppliers and visitors from an environmental and safety perspective enforcing compliance with the corresponding regulations and standards to avoid risks and ensure compliance with standards.
  • Comply with the measures requested by internal or external audits by institutions including governmental or others that are carried out in the plant to keep the company within the applicable environmental and safety laws.
  • Establish implement and maintain procedures to identify potential emergency situations and accidents that may impact the environment and safety of personnel or the organization's operations and develop effective response plans.
  • Provide support in the coordination of activities as well as training of the emergency brigade to increase their knowledge and skills in order to have a better preventive action and a better response to any potential accident.
  • Carry out legal procedures and controls regarding compliance with environmental labor and other applicable regulations.
    Manage the control of hazardous and non-hazardous waste generated in the company so that they have the appropriate final disposal.
  • Collaborate in the follow-up of the annual training program corresponding to safety hygiene and environment.
    Verify and keep updated the visual factory (signs notices signals hangings and visual aids in general) as elements to help avoid unsafe acts and conditions.
  • Perform activities associated with significant environmental aspects and in general environmental activities following the environmental procedures instructions or recommendations defined in the company.
  • Know and understand the environmental policy and actively participate in the achievement of environmental objectives and goals as well as comply with the applicable environmental management manual procedures plans and programs and/or other applicable documents.
  • Ensure compliance with the environmental management system implement and maintain compliance with ISO 14001 requirements.
  • Ensure AEO/C-TPAT program compliance implement and maintain AEO/C-TPAT criteria as well as reporting of incidents that may affect receipts and shipments occurring in plant.
  • Notify and coordinate the multi-disciplinary AEO/C-TPAT incident investigation team for correction of conditions that have the potential to affect compliance with AEO/C-TPAT criteria.
  • Participate in and coordinate AEO/C-TPAT compliance drills implementing a compliance action plan for the processes involved in the receipt and shipment of product at the plant.
  • Manage Near miss detection program for accident prevention ensuring closure of assigned actions.
  • Notifying and coordinating the multidisciplinary team for accident investigation to correct conditions that put personnel at risk.
  • Coordinate cleaning services to maintain optimal plant conditions.
  • Report malfunctioning of water electricity and gas services that may affect plant processes.
