Job Description

Special Education Elementary Teacher

LLD Mild/Moderate

2025 - 2026 School Year

MacAfee Road School

QUALIFICATIONS

Valid New Jersey K-6 Elementary Certificate and Teacher of Students with Disabilities

ORTeacher of the Handicapped

Proficiency with instructional technology

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct ongoing assessments to identify students strengths challenges and individual learning preferences.
  • Design and deliver instructional interventions using evidence-based practices and principles of Universal Design for Learning.
  • Monitor student progress and adjust interventions as needed to ensure continuous growth and improvement.
  • Collaborate with parents and guardians to ensure open communication and partnership in supporting students academic and social-emotional development.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Develop and implement IEPs tailored to the unique needs of each student.
  • Provide direct instruction and support in a variety of subjects to students with mild/moderate disabilities.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers paraprofessionals and other support staff to create an inclusive classroom environment.
  • Commitment to equity diversity and inclusion in education.
