Buffalo Trail Public Schools ispleased to offer a part-time probationary teaching opportunity at J.R. Robson School in Vermilion Alberta for the school year . This position involves teaching Grade 79 Science and is ideal for a student-focused educator with a strong background in technology-enhanced instruction and middle years pedagogy. Specific Position Details:
- Start Date: August 25 2025
- End Date: June 26 2026
- Location: J.R. Robson Vermilion AB
- Subject Areas: Grade 7-9 Science
- Contract Type: Probationary
- FTE: 0.75 (part-time)
Specific Position Duties:
- Shall be a dynamic student-centred educator committed to maximizing student learning in a safe and caring environment
- Plan and deliver engaging curriculum-aligned Science instruction for Grades 79
- Integrate technology tools to enhance instruction student understanding and scientific inquiry
- Support students in developing critical thinking problem-solving and lab skills through hands-on and concept-based learning
- Use Google Classroom and other digital platforms to manage learning materials assignments and communication
- Contribute to a safe inclusive and respectful classroom environment that fosters curiosity and student engagement
- Collaborate with the science team and school staff to support cross-grade instructional alignment and school-wide initiatives
Qualifications and General Duties:
- A valid Alberta Teaching Certificate
- Demonstrates a student-centred philosophy committed to maximizinglearning in a safe and caring environment
- Proficiency with Google Suite and educational tools for communication and planning
- Experience and/or training in Assessment for Learning including formative and summative assessment strategies
- Ability to build positive relationships with students and foster a sense of belonging
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues
- Commitment to ongoing professional growth and reflective practice aligned with the Alberta Teaching Quality Standard
- A willingness to contribute to the schools extracurricular programs is considered an asset
