Position Summary

Holy Trinity Catholic Church is seeking a dedicated and organized individual to serve as the Coordinator for the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (CGS) Program. This part-time role supports the faith development of children through a Montessori-based approach rooted in scripture and liturgy. The CGS Coordinator oversees all levels of CGS (Toddler Levels IIII) facilitates catechist formation manages volunteer recruitment and ensures the smooth operation of the atria.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities


Formation & Training

  • Coordinate and host CGS catechist formation trainings in collaboration with the CGS National Office.
  • Promote formation opportunities through parish and Archdiocesan channels.
  • Support Formation Leaders by providing materials hospitality babysitting and logistics.
  • Maintain accurate attendance records for all training sessions.

Volunteer Recruitment & Management

  • Recruit and support catechists for all CGS levels (Toddler Level I II III).
  • Provide at least 4 hours of training for all volunteers.

Scheduling & Communication

  • Assign catechists and assistants to specific class days/times.
  • Organize registration and class assignments for all participating children.
  • Notify parents of their childs schedule and maintain regular communication.
  • Create and distribute a monthly parent newsletter highlighting classroom content and updates.
  • Host periodic meetings and prayer services for catechists assistants and parents.

Toddler Program Oversight

  • Develop and provide training for toddler catechists and assistants.
  • Procure or create necessary materials for toddler formation.
  • Manage scheduling and registration for toddler classes.

Atria Management

  • Maintain a clean organized and fully stocked environment in all four atria.
  • Coordinate with volunteers to create and repair materials (including carpentry and sewing).
  • Maintain a materials inventory and list of needed repairs.
  • Organize monthly and seasonal workshops for material creation.
  • Collaborate with catechists and volunteers to develop online resources for families.
  • Use tools like Signup Genius to coordinate flower donations wish lists and other parent involvement.
  • Communicate with catechists and assistants promptly regarding scheduling conflicts illnesses and substitute needs.

Qualifications

  • Experience with or certification in Catechesis of the Good Shepherd preferred.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with staff volunteers and families.
  • Experience with parish life and knowledge in Catholic teachings.
  • Proficiency in digital tools such as email spreadsheets and online sign-up platforms.
