Job Description

Pay Grade: J

(General Summary):

Under the direct supervision of the Regional Accounting Manager this employee will perform SHINES Fiscal and SMILE Statewide Related duties for DFCS Regional Accounting

  • Testing of all new releases related to any fiscal pages
  • Participate in all meetings about new releases in SHINES and with new programs being attached to SHINES such as Delivered Services and Family Foster Care Portals.
  • Provide Support for Questions on Invoices that are rejected in SHINES to the Counties Regional Accounting and the Data Integrity Specialist
  • Compile data needed for Global Data Fixes or Daily Data Fixes to resolve invoice process issues and send to SHINES SME liaison
  • Maintain the SHINES Cheat Sheets yearly
  • Complete the Quarterly Re-rate reports from SMILE and submit them to Management/Budget Services
  • Maintain/Add the SW Chart of Accounts MIERS DEPT STMTS Payroll Information and CW Code Table
  • Add all new Supervisors for the Leave Module
  • Assist with updating the Accounting and FFS Contact List
  • Disseminate and follow up on outstanding time sheets to ensure that leave can be posted timely
  • Assist with Emergency Shelter Reporting and tracking cost

Minimum Qualifications

Associate degree in communication English or public relations from an accredited college or university and one (1) year of experience related to area of assignment.

Note: An equivalent combination of knowledge education job or intern experience training or certifications that provides the necessary knowledge and skills to successfully perform the job at the level listed may be substituted year-over-year.

Preferred Skills/Qualifications

  • Ability to work with SHINES and OIT Teams as well as County Staff and Regional Accounting Staff
  • Three (3) years experience in SHINES and SMILE with Child Welfare preferably as a billing specialist FOG 2 or FOG SPVR
Current SHINES and SMILE background preferred
