Job Description

Job Title:Performing Arts Teacher

Locations:Alternative Programs will be working at both locations

  • J.P. Lord 4444 Marinda Street Omaha NE 68105
  • Integrated Learning Program 2504 Meredith Avenue Omaha NE 68111

Reports To:Program Directors

Work Schedule/FLSA Status:pernegotiated agreement/ Exempt

Salary Schedule for the 2025-2026 School Year:

Salary credit may be awarded for applicable experience. Placement on the salary schedule will follow the applicablenegotiated agreement.

Start Date: August 1 2025

Position Purpose:Plans for teaches and facilitates learning for all students with disabilities at J.P. Lord and the Integrated Learning Program. Creates a positive learning environment. Maintains academic progress records and discipline. Works collaboratively with students parents and staff to provide and implement classroom education to meet the needs of all students.

Additional Duties
Performs other related tasks as assigned by the Program Director and other central office administrators as designated by the Superintendent.

Equipment: This position may require the ability to use SMART boards and iPads in addition to basic office equipment such as computers copiers scanners fax machines as well as musical instruments and applications. Must always comply with OPSs guidelines for equipment use.

Travel:Travel between J.P. Lord and Integrated Learning Program locations.

Terms of Employment

This position is treated as a full-time exempt certified position. The terms of your employment will be governed by applicable state laws regulating employment or teaching in a Nebraska public school and Board of Education policies as those laws and policies may change from time to time and the Teacher Contract. If your position is represented by a collective bargaining representative then your employment will also be governed by a negotiated agreement between OPS and that collective bargaining representative.
