Job Description
At Amazon Web Services (AWS) Security is our highest priority. The AWS Compliance and Security Assurance team is responsible for diving deep into industry requirements establishing and maintaining customers and regulatory relationships for security requirements and establish long-term strategies to meet customer and regulatory security assurance needs and requirements. At AWS scale we hire experienced builders to design and operate scalable mechanisms to provide the highest level of assurance to our most regulatory conscious customers.
We are seeking a highly motivated Security Assurance Manager to join our assurance team. In this role you will be responsible for supporting our most security-conscious customers and internal security stakeholders. You will work alongside audit teams who are experts in their respective frameworks delivering assurance artifacts to demonstrate key risk objectives to strategically address compliance. Additionally you will be responsible for understanding AWS operational and technical control environment while using high-judgement to demonstrate and communicate control posture to customers and stakeholders globally.
The successful candidate will work across many customer groups and compliance frameworks (Cloud Control Matrix NIST ISO etc.) to design solutions for complex compliance challenges. You will work directly with most divisions within AWS service to improve AWS ability to demonstrate assurances for our internal and external customers.
In this role you will facilitate open and transparent relationships with AWS internal stakeholders customers and third-party auditors. We seek an experienced and industry professional who has the ability to understand core compliance frameworks dive deep into IT processes communicate to auditors and to be able to drive innovative process changes through multiple organizations and teams.
Key job responsibilities
Understand and serve as a subject-matter expert around AWS security controls
Manage assurance lifecycle for supported global customer audits across US APJ and EMEA regions
Communicate to leadership key risks and areas of program improvement as well as seek diverse opinions and coordinate improvement efforts.
Dive deep into the AWS control environment to develop broad domain and technical understanding of AWS control activities and implementation to articulate compliance to key stakeholders.
Bridge communication with key stakeholders and AWS technical communities to articulate control implementation.
Evaluating the effectiveness and efficiency of compliance program activities and recommend improvements to improve delivery at scale.
Leading and managing projects and campaigns with excellent project management skills.
Creating operational mechanisms to address recurring escalation patterns and persistent challenges
Setting the vision and connecting the vision between technology business strategies and requirements
Communicating to senior leadership the status and key deliverables of team initiatives seek diverse opinions and lead improvement efforts.
Diving deep into the operations of AWS compliance programs to develop broad domain and technical understanding of regulatory and customer expectations to drive process improvement initiatives.
Using high judgment to distill diverse inputs from large customer segments and stakeholders to set a vision and design the right long-term solutions.

Bachelors Degree in Computer Science Information Systems Management Mathematics Accounting/Auditing or other related fields
5 years of experience in security audits customer trust control assessments or risk assessments.
5 years of experience assessing complex technical processes
Demonstrated understanding of cloud computing services/architecture.
Experience with monitoring and automating security controls.
Experience in third-party and/or internal audit examinations.
Demonstrates high judgement and risk decision making abilities.
Have experience in performing technical assessments and documentation of network operating systems application security as well as auditing IT processes including working knowledge of key controls across a number of industry best practices
Direct experience in identification management monitoring and reporting risks/POA&Ms
Have an industry certification such as CISSP CISA and CISM.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $91800/year in our lowest geographic market up to $196300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
