Job Duties
This individual will manage the Investigations Unit of the Consumer Protection Section whose staff members investigate suspected violations of the Virginia Consumer Protection Act and other state and federal consumer protection laws. The Investigations Unit Manager also will carry a caseload with responsibility to handle consumer complaints that allege violations of law facilitate the resolution of consumer complaints as may be appropriate and work with Consumer Protection Section attorneys to develop and pursue possible enforcement actions. This individual will conduct consumer and witness interviews draft interview summaries and prepare investigative reports. When appropriate the Investigations Unit Manager will perform field investigations including in matters involving the sale of substances containing tetrahydrocannabinol unlawful price gouging and towing law violations. Routine interaction with state/federal officials businesses and the general consuming public is required.
