Job Description

Pay Grade/Pay Range:Minimum: $18.32 - Midpoint: $21.97 (Hourly N4)

Department/Organization:208101 - Deans Office-CCHS

Normal Work Schedule:Monday - Friday 8:00am to 4:45pm; limited nights/weekends

Job Summary:The Medical Insurance Clerk II processes a full range of health insurance services in support of clinical business operations in compliance with College and University regulations policies and in the implementation of a third party billing program. Completes daily review posting and reconciliation of all medical accounts receivables.

Additional Department Summary:Prepares daily review posting and reconciliation of all medical accounts receivables including electronic deposits payments via mail clinic and billing office deposits received from patients for multiple practice locations: University Medical Center Clinics Student Health Center and Student Health Center Pharmacy.

Assists with annual financial audits for practice locations. Analyzes data for trends and/or problems in medical revenue cycle provides data and reports to Director of College Financial Affairs. Provides feedback to Assistant Director of Billing and Coding Compliance regarding denials related to billing submission errors. Establishes confidential reporting mechanisms to report compliance and audit confers to management. Maintains strictest confidentiality; adheres to all HIPAA and FERPA guidelines/regulations.

Manages multiple insurance company and clearing house websites for all entities.

Required Minimum Qualifications:High school diploma or GED and two (2) years of medical insurance experience; OR associates degree or higher.

Ability to research and prepare comprehensive reports. Ability to monitor and adhere to quality control standards. Ability to work at a rapid pace with numerous interruptions. Ability to cope with stressful conditions. Ability to demonstrate tact versatility and adaptability. Ability to demonstrate a high degree of self-motivation and directional initiative.

Preferred Qualifications:Certified Revenue Cycle Specialist (CRCS) by America Association of Healthcare Administrative Management (AAHAM) other relevant certification.
